Westfalia Syncros

The fabled Syncro. These originally came with all wheel drive, but there are endless options to how you can upgrade and configure the drive systems. Most upgraded syncros come with “knobs” on the dashboard that control locking differentials and “deocuplers”, which disengage the all wheel drive when it is not needed. A Weekender or Full Camper syncro is going to generally run a buyer almost twice as much as a 2wd Westfalia. As an example, a decent 2wd Vanagon Westfalia may fetch $15k, whereas the same van in a syncro might fetch close to $30k. The syncros were available in the United States between 1986 and 1991.
