Overpriced Much? 1987 Westy, Mostly Original, 117k – $32,500

1987 Vanagon Westfalia Full Camper – Mostly Original – $32,500 in Arizona

While I have posted about some very unique kitted Westys with whopper price tags, most of them were/are unique enough that someone would likely be willing to pay near the asking price for them.  However, this is the first time I’m posting about a van where I feel someone is really trying to shoot the moon. This seller in Arizona has decided to ask $32,500 for a mostly original 1987 Westy with 117,000 on the clock. No rebuilt portions of the drive train, not even a 3 window tent. Just really clean and maintained with a nice stereo too.  Granted it shows well in the pictures and looks to very well taken care of. However in my opinion they’re asking about $10k too much, maybe it’s a typo?  How about this comparable on TheSamba.com for $21k for 1987 w/ only 88k miles and it’s been up for sale since Sept 2013?.   I’m guessing it was started up at a higher price as well.

If the seller garaged and stored this van for a decade, he might even get more than $30k by then, but not now.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
