1988 Westfalia Weekender w/ Subaru 2.2 – $9,500
Here’s what seems like a good find up in Kings Park, New York, listed on eBay a couple of days ago. A 1988 VW Vanagon Westfalia full camper with a Subaru EJ22 (2.2L) with a 50k on it for a $9,500 buy it now. The auction ends on Nov 11, 2013 14:14:14 PST, next Monday afternoon. There are no bids yet, but 53 watchers. If this rig was for sale in the bay area, it would be sold by now. While the owner says there’s 300k on these chassis, it appears to be in pretty good shape. He’s recently had the gas tank resealed, which is always be a headache with these (was with mine). The transmission has stock gear ratios as well, no higher 3rd and 4th, which can be a nice upgrade with this motor. There’s no radio/stereo, and the engine temp gauge doesn’t work, or at least work often. However, all in all, for $9,500 this looks like a sweet deal if you’re looking for a van like this on the east coast.
