Just this morning I came across this 1986 Synrco Weekender Westy for sale on WestCoastSamba.com, but I can’t find it listed for sale anywhere else, so it might be relatively unknown. The seller says they have over $54,000 in receipts from GoWesty, but doesn’t specify how long ago most of the work was done. The 2.4L GoWesty motor has 64,000 miles since the rebuild, so much of this work could have been done well over five years ago, unless the van has seen some serious touring. Some highlights in no particular order are; Flowmaster stainless steel exhaust system, Hushpower WBXaustSS tuned exhaust, transmission with taller gear ratios, Rear locker, de coupler, 930 Porsche axles, full interior remodel, new dash instruments, new shocks, big brake, newer paint job, GoWesty bumpers, South African grill, h4 headlights, 800w inverter, deep cycle batteries, new pop top seals, tent canvas, bunk mat and appears to have with this $270 console storage kit that mounts around the gear shifter. I saw one of those consoles at VanCafe in Santa Cruz recently and was tempted. There’s really too much to list here, so you’ll have to go check out West Coast Samba or give them a ring at 360-636-7023 for the full scoop. This van is likely in the Washington state area, but not details are provided. Live on the East Coast? Check out this 1986 stock Westy Syncro w/ only 100k miles for $25k.
