1984 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper w/ 2.2L Subaru & Auto Trans – $18k in Saint Petersburg, FL

While I think this could be a slightly higher than average price for the region, it might still be a decent deal if it's really in good structural and mechanical shape. This van is a 1984 VW Vanagon Westfalia camper with a 2.2L Subaru engine and an automatic transmission.  No word on what type of conversion kit was used or who it was done by, which makes a big deal for those of us in California who are required to have the Kennedy engineering kit to be CARB compliant.  The engine is a 2005 Subaru, or was done in 2005, no real specifics.  The seller does state that their are new break pads, fuel pump, starter and neutral safety switch, rewired starter system, tranny cooler, shocks and air lift suspension.  It also comes with a solar set up, awning and a nice rain fly for the tent.  Check it out in Saint Petersburg, Florida with a Buy It Now price of $18,000. eBay LinkRead More About This Westy

1985 VW Vanagon Riveria w/ 2.2L Subaru – Auction In Taos, NM

Here's an interesting mash up of aftermarket tops and engines. The Riviera tops are hot today, and here's another one, only this time with a fresh 2.2L Subaru with all the proper conversion parts. This 1985 VW Vanagon Riviera comes with a fully rebuilt Subaru 2.2L engine, automatic transmission, new orly blue paint job, GoWesty swing arm set up for the rear, new propane tank, Suburban propane heater, Go Westy 16" wheels w/new Firestone all season radial tires, new axles and CV joints and boots, GoWesty high power headlight kit, Bilstein shocks, front skid plate, new fuel lines, new spark plug wires, working stove and fridge, three batteries! and all kids of other extras.  There's no A/C, no stereo, no curtains, the water tank pump doesn't work, a couple of pin holes in the pop top and a small rattle in the muffler than can't seem to be diagnosed.  The van is located in Taos, New Mexico and the auction ends on May 18th, with a current starting/asking bid of $18k.  Keep in mind a good Subaru 2.2L conversion costs upwards of $14k. eBay LinkRead More About This Westy

1988 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper – $18k In Bellingham, WA

Posted for sale on The Samba classifieds yesterday is this 1988 VW Vanagon Westfalia camper with only 97k original miles, stock 2.1L engine, manual transmission, awning, extra jump seat and kerosene heater.  The seller is asking $18k and I find this a fairly reasonable price, mainly considering the sub 100k mileage.  It also appears to have some rack tabs mounted to the pop top, can't tell which kind though. There appears to be some type of aftermarket stereo (or at least speakers) installed in the cabinet behind the fridge, along with some other additional box kind of dohickey.  Not many other details are provided, but the seller did provide the VIN so you can check up on the van's history. The Samba LinkRead More About This Westy
