Available in Ohio, here’s another syncro up for auction (ends 4/29) on eBay with a reported 500k miles. This van is 1991 VW Vanagon Syncro Westfalia Weekender, but it used to be camper. The current owner turned it into the weekender so he had more room to haul things. The engine is the stock 2.1L but is carbureted as the fuel injection was removed when it was rebuilt a couple of years ago. The transmission is stock and has the locking rear diff, but the drive shaft for the front wheels has been removed and needs to be replaced (bummer!). It comes with some minor rust and needs a bit of cosmetic attention. In recent years it has seen a full brake rebuild on the front with Audi big brakes with dual piston calipers and vented rotors, new clutch and slave/master cylinders, both South African front grills, 16 inch Mercedes CLK Wheels. It appears to also come with a rear hatch ladder. If you know someone or have a local shop that is good a fixing syncros, this could be a nice project to restore if you can get it for cheap.
Sold for only $8,100, nice find if you know someone who can work on the syncro stuff.
