Here’s another Subaru swap that looks to be a great shape and is said to be CA CARB compliant and ready to go.  Available in Aptos, CA for $25, this 1989 Westy with automatic transmission looks to be a very nice specimen with minimal to 0 rust and even an uncracked dash.  It’s got a gear reduction starter to power up that Subaru with ease, 16″ Gowesty wheels, Gowesty zero lift springs, Bilstein shocks, redone driver and passenger door panels, new 3 window tent, GoWesty fridge elimination kit, Yakima wide body brackets, nice stereo and all kinds of other extras. Best of all, only 10k miles on the Subaru conversion and only 141k on the odometer. While I’m personally not a fan of the automatic transmission, this van lacks power window and power locks, which I love because the power stuff usually fails in 25 year old vehicles.  The engine and transmission work probably cost north of $16k, and a running 1989 Westy in this good of condition will run you well north of $10k, so overall this is a pretty good deal if you’ve got the coin to spend.
