1989 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper Red Manual 102k miles Auction in Seattle, WA

After last weeks low mileage all original Westy auction, this similar auction is garnering some attention at the moment. Sans a few cabinet stickers, this specimen looks to be clean and well cared for and is said to be a one owner original. This 1989 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper features the original Titan Red Metallic paint(likely), stock 2.1L engine (rebuilt at 70k), stock 4 speed manual transmission and appears to be most original or oem parts.  Everything is stated to be, or implied to be working including the A/C, sink, stove, fridge, propane tank, etc.  No word on why the original owner had to have the engine rebuilt at 70k miles, but I’d see how much paperwork there is to document this, as the seller states they have all the records. An additional bonus is a full length Fiamma awning, which new would be at least a grand.

The Car Fax report for VIN wv2zb0256kh035531 shows a 68k mile odometer reading in 2003, with no other readings except for the most recent one at 102k when it arrived at the dealer where it is currently for sale. The auction ends on Monday September 28th at 1pm PST. You can also view the listing on the TDI Motors website here. While the current high bid on Friday evening was nearing the $17k mark, the seller’s reserve price is likely well north of $25k, as their website and craigslist ads state they are hoping for $29k.  I feel in this rig could fetch maybe $24k from the right buyer, though if I were in the market, I’d have a hard time paying more than $20k for it.
