Here’s what appears to be a turnkey, travel ready Westy with a a fresh 2.5L Subaru conversion done by Small Car Performance in Tacoma, WA. The seller listed this van on the Go Westy classifieds yesterday for $23,500, which is a reasonable price considering these conversions can run well north of $15k, not to mention it’s got a rebuilt automatic transmission with the limited slip differential (another $5k at least). Also included in the package are a 10′ Fiamma awning, Alpine stereo and speakers, 2″ hitch w/ Thule 4 bike rack and some other odds and ends. The motor has about 30k miles, with the odometer reading 163k. While I’m not a fan of automatics, it’s mainly because they’re less reliable and more costly to fix than a manual, however I’d consider a van with a brand new one and that limited slip differential. It’s also got some upgraded HD front brakes. On a side note, it might be harder to get this to pass smog in some states like CA because of the 2.5L motor, I’d get the paperwork and call Small Car to ask if you plan to register it in CA, or another state or area with strict emissions standards.
