UPDATED: The seller added some detail explaining the mileage history at the bottom of the eBay listing. See the comment below, or follow the eBay link on the image or at the bottom of this post. Basically, he estimates the mileage to be ~150k.

Here’s a rare 10 day auction that went live on eBay yesterday.  Up for grabs in Mechanicsville, Virginia is this 1987 VW Vanagon Westfalia camper with stock rebuilt 2.1L engine, stock automatic transmission and minimal to no rust.  The seller says they’re not sure if the kitchen equipment works, and the AC and cruise control do not.  I’m a bit concerned with the Auto Check score, as it says the reported 82k miles is inaccurate, so I’m not sure why the seller hasn’t explained this in the description. In 1995 the odometer read 115k miles, and that was reported as not being accurate.   However it has only had two onwers, and the current owner is 84 years old, so they are likely not driving it too hard, in fact they state it hasn’t been driven much or camped with in a few years.  Not sure what the reserve price is, but if you’re into automatics, this could be a nice east coast find you could probably swoop up for under $10k, however I don’t know what the sellers expectations are here. Auction Ends June 1st, 2014. eBay Link

Thank you for the heads up regarding the mileage. I updated the eBay listing to show history and my best guess on the actual mileage.

I hate to sell this Westy, but I no longer use it and hate to waste it.
