Ending Sunday evening September 7th at 7pm PST is this auction for a 1987 VW Vanagon Westfalia camper with 205k miles and all kinds of fresh upgrades and features. Most importantly, this van has a 2.2L GoWesty engine with only 3k miles on it and is still under warranty, which is hooked up to a rebuilt automatic transmission with similar mileage. While the fridge doesn’t work, the stove and the sink are functional. Looks good on some nice 16″ Carat wheels too. I think they’re hoping for at least $20k with all the mechanical upgrades, and considering the van is in a hotbed for Westy enthusiasts, it might fetch that much. The vehicle resides in Santa Cruz, California. eBay Link
After 26 bids from 11 bidders, the top offer was $10,900. Which is about as much as it would cost to put in a 2.2L Go Westy engine and rebuilt transmission. I think at least $15k would still be a good deal.
