Looking at Westys for extended periods each day, every day, for years on end, you start to second guess yourself when you see one that looks familiar. I know I have seen this one before, but I can’t seem to find any record of posting it, so….. This Friday specimen is a 1987 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper with stock 2.1L engine, stock manual transmission and a barely broken in 108k original miles. eBay Link
The odometer was replaced at some point, and the seller has used up their free Auto Check reports, so you’ll have to do a VIN check on your own ( wv2zb0258hh022983 ) to get more of the dirt on this one. The engine is said to have been rebuilt in 2005 to the tune of $5k by S&S Import service in Antioch CA, though there isn’t much to be said about this business online.
The seller does mention the van comes with almost new Michelin tires on the original 14″ mag wheels. Overall the pictures show a well cared for Westy with fading paint and a few minor bumps on bruises, though the original tent canvas and interior appear to be in excellent shape. The auction ends on Thursday March 26th at 6pm PST. eBay Link
What do you think it’s worth? I’m guessing this will top out at around $16k – $18k, depending on what the title check actually shows. Got any wisdom to share?
