Woah! Here’s a crazy find for your Monday morning. This rig showed up for sale on The Samba yesterday and appears to be quite a labor of love, not sure why they are selling it. This van started out as a 1987 Vanagon Syncro and over the past four years the seller added an Adventure Wagon high top and Westfalia interior, however there are not functioning kitchen appliances. Probably the most desirable part of this vehicle is the 2.2L Subaru engine that only has about 15k miles on it. The seller did his own paint job, which he isn’t that proud of, so I’d be sure to inquire about rust beforehand. There’s over 100 photos in their Photobucket Album you can peruse, which also contains pictures of the van prior to getting tricked out. There’s way too many upgrades and features to list here, however unless you know your way around one of these, I’d be sure know a local vanagon/subaru whiz in your area, as working on this rig will require some special knowledge. The official for sale listing is found over at The Samba Classifieds, with the van’s current location being in Las Vegas, Nevada with an asking price of $33k. I think if it had a premier paint job and the locker and decoupler worked, it’d probably be closer to $40k.
