While my main focus here finding true Westys for sale, I suddenly have the urge to someday find a nice Synrco tin top for off roading adventures around Northern California, especially something for the snow. While I’d love to find a full camper syncro, they’re ridiculously more expensive than a standard tin top Vanagon Syncro. That brings me to this van that popped up on The Samba this morning. A 1987 tin top syncro with 200k on the clock and a somewhat fresh CARB compliant Subaru EJ22 motor for sale in Ventura, CA for $18.5k. Keeping in mind a good Subaru EJ22 conversion costs $10k to $20k, depending on variety of factors, $18.5k for a relatively rust free looking syncro appears to be a good deal, especially in California.
Is this synchro still available?
