1986 Westy Camper W/ Brand New GoWesty 2.2 Motor – $23,500 in Monterey, CA
Just a few minutes ago someone posted this new looking 1986 VW Vanagon Westfalia Full Camper for sale in Monterey, CA on both Craigslist & TheSamba. Even with the $23,500 asking price, this van will likely go quick, especially considering this is Westy lover country. Aside from it appearing to be a well taken care of van, there are two major upgrades which occurred in the not so distant past. First, the paint job is still under warranty, and no shop warranties a paint job for five years unless it’s they’re confident in their work. Next up, there’s a newer 2.2L Go Westy motor in the back, less than 10k on it and a transferable warranty, the odometer reads 228k. The seller says they will also include some stainless steel coolant pipes and a gas tank reseal kit, and a big brake kit(extra $500) that have to be installed. The fridge works well and it of course it also comes with an alarm system. Nice 3 window tent, GoWesty 16in wheels and yakima racks. The front seats are blue, not sure how that happened, but they are in good shape. The seller also says they’v got every record of work since 1986. So, while it is 24 grand for a 1986 vehicle, I actually think this is a pretty good price considering some of the cosmetic and mechanical upgrades.
