While these vans seem to be a little less prevalent in the midwest, if they’re south of the “salt on the roads in the winter” belt, sometimes you can find them in good shape. This one appears to be a good example of that. Available in Springfield, MO, this 1986 VW Vanagon Westfalia Wolfsburg Weekender has been listed for sale on the GoWesty classifieds site and Springfield craigslist for $14,000. The craigslist listing has more and better pictures, not sure why the GoWesty site uses such small images. According to the seller, the engine was rebuilt in 2009 and the van has 165k miles on the body, there is no rust, and the upholstery does need some repairs. As a bonus it even comes with the porta potty! While it is being sold by a private seller, this van can be seen at Car Car Center on 1273 E. Republic in Springfield, MO. I’d find out who did the engine rebuild and see if there is any documentation. As always, get the VIN and do a history check/report. I’ve also started a “work in progress” buying guide which can be found in the top navigation of this site.
