Here’s another van that didn’t get listed with the keyword Westfalia, just Vanagon Wolfsburg Weekender, which is 3/4 of the way there, but many hunters just use Westfalia for their searches. At any rate, the van is listed on both The Samba and Craigslist in Flagstaff, AZ for $11,500. This decent looking specimen has the stock 2.1L motor and 4 speed manual transmission along with front and rear AC and an extra jump seat. The van is approaching 200k miles, but looks to be relatively well taken care of it. It’s odd that the instrument cluster doesn’t feature a tachometer, as I had an ’86 camper that had a tach. These desert dwellers usually lack the rust of their coastal or snowbound counterparts and makes them an excellent restoration choice. I’d be sure to get that VIN check to see where she has lived and if the mileage is accurate. If it is the original engine, I wouldn’t expect it to get another 25k miles at almost 30 years old.
