1986 VW Vanagon Westfalia Weekender – $6,000 in Grand Rapids, MI

Here’s a low priced find that went up on The Samba last night.  This specimen is a 1986 VW Vanagon Westfalia Weekender with 220k miles on the body and 115k miles on a rebuilt 2.1L engine.  There’s pretty much 0 details other than the five pictures and what I’ve said already, there’s no indication if it’s a manual or automatic either. However for a mid west Westy it doesn’t appear to have any visible seam rust, though of course there’s not pictures of the undercarriage.  Aside from some dented up original bumpers and the some stickers on the read hatch window, this rig shows pretty well for only having a $6k asking price. While they didn’t provide the VIN, there is a Michigan license plate number present, sometimes you can look up vehicle history with that as well on sites like CarFax.  Check it out in Grand Rapids, Michigan.   The Samba Link

Pictures of the undercarriage and interior would be nice, those midwest winters can wreak havoc underneath. If this is a legit running, driving, non leaking Westy and the interior looks as good as the exterior, it would be worth double their asking price on the west coast.  What do you think? Tell us in the comments below, or head on over to the individual discussions about this Westy on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or Google+ to share your wisdom or banter there!
