1986 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper Automatic in Arizona

1986 vw vanagon westfalia camper automatic transmission low miles arizona a WV2ZB0250GH097174 dI have no idea how dealers keep getting ahold of these amazing looking low mileage Westys. I’m guessing that some folks just don’t have the know how, courage or time to sell a vehicle on their own. At any rate, here’s a sweet 1986 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper with only 76,000 miles on the odometer.  It appears to be almost all stock and comes with the desirable automatic transmission. While the purists love the manual transmission, the auto is considerably easier to drive. For those bold enough to let their friends drive part of the road trip, they don’t need to be familiar driving a manual trans.  There’s no mention of whether or not any of the appliances or propane tank are working, and no pictures of the dashboard or cockpit as well.  However overall it shows super clean and crisp.

The Auto Check report provided by eBay shows a higher than average score, with a total of 3 owners. The first owner lived in New York, however the Westy moved to it’s 2nd owner in the Arizona desert in 2003 and his been registered in this ideal climate ever since. While at a distant glance, it appear to have the later model Westy plastic trim around the bottom, however upon closer inspection it appears to have been painted or bed linered. We’re hoping it’s from rock chips and not a result of salt from it’s early life in New York.  The 76k miles appear to be accurate in the Auto Check title report, though it’s always a gamble. It’s currently being sold by Classic Corner Garage, however the Westy isn’t listed on their current inventory.

The auction ends on Monday October 5th at 3:39pm PST and it currently has a high bid of $15k from just a handful of suitors.  Any ideas on the final highest bid? Let us know in the comments below, or head on over to the discussion about this Westy on Facebook here.
