The midwest region generally has significantly less Westy inventory when compared to other regions of the US. Occasionally we come across what appear to be good deals out in the plains states, like this one. This van is a mostly stock 1986 VW Vanagon Syncro (AWD) Westfalia Camper with unknown mileage (est 200k) and stocke 2.1L engine and 5 speed(granny gear +1) manual transmission. The van comes with a wide variety upgrades performed by the seller including power locks, heated seats, sliding center seats, newer 3 window tent, custom rack, custom cargo carriers, custom cruise control, the usual bumps and bruises, a broken real differential locker, a busted propane tank (new one uninstalled) and a free ride from the Tulsa airport if you want to fly in and get picked up. It’s got a clean title, and according to the history report, has likely lived in Oklahoma since 2004, and the Colorado before that. This Westy is available in Owasso, Oklahoma and the auction ends June 21st. eBay Link – Photobucket Link
I thought the bidding was open til June for the Owasso, OK, West. I’m in Tulsa now; would like to see it if possible.
Wow, cool story, here’s the link for anyone else who wants to check out their adventure.
the guy who bought it is in portland – there is a great post on the samba with photos of the journey to bring it from tulsa to pdx. what a score!
Sold for $13,601 from a total of 7 bids from 3 different bidders. Someone got a deal! Now you just have to get it out of Oklahoma!
