Anytime there’s a decent looking syncro pop top for sale for under $30k it’s going to get mentioned here, at least in most cases. That’s what we’ve got here today. This van is a 1986 VW Vanagon Syncro Westfalia Camper with a fresh GoWesty engine (unknown displacement), stock manual transmission and 208k miles. The seller states this van has also received a new front drive shaft and viscous coupler (for the syncro portion), new swing axles, new brakes (vague?), new suspension and factory overhead A/C works. The fridge is said to not be functioning, but no other notes on the stove, propane tank, sink, water pump, etc. While it carries the original paint job and pin stripes, the previous owner Line X’d the rocker panels and front and it appears to be a good job, however you’ll never know what may or may not have been underneath all that. It sits nicely on either 15″ or 16″ GoWesty/VanCafe wheels with what appear to be BFG AT tires. Find it for sale in Phoenix, Arizona with an asking price of $26,500. Craigslist Link
here’s no mention (or pictures) of any “knobs” on the dash for things like decouplers, lockers, etc, so you’ll have to ask the seller if there’s anything additional besides the stock all wheel drive package. They also didn’t provide the VIN, so you’ll definitely want to get a hold of that and do a title check to get more of the history behind the rig. As an added bonus it is show with an awning and reach hatch rack system, I’m guessing they’re included with the sale? If this is truly a rust free, fresh engine, fresh drive shaft & viscous coupler Westy camper, it will sell quick at this price, if it’s not sold already.
