Here’s a nice looking and well sorted Westy without a state to call home.. err, sort of. This Westy is a 1985 VW Vanagon Westfalia Weekender with 15k miles on a Bostig Ztec crate (new) engine AND rebuilt 4 speed manual transmission with the highly sought after Peloquins limited slip differential and a total of 175k miles on the body. If you could actually register this van in California, it would be sold already. This van is loaded with all kinds of awesome add ons that, just with conservative estimates show over $25k invested, if not closer to $30k, with the actual cost of an ok condition ’85 Westy to start from.
While the Ford Ztec Bostig doesn’t have the same power as the German or Japanese counterpart swaps, the parts for these engines are widely and cheaply available, as well as the know how to work on them. The Peloquins is a great way to get part of the way to a syncro, without the extra $10k – $15k. This appears to be a great turn key get up and go Westy if the Bostig engine will pass emissions laws in your state. Find it for sale in Encinitas / San Diego, California. Hey Tom – GLWTS! I posted it in the “Good deals on nice vans” thread on The Samba a few days ago. Sorry you gotta pass it on. Heck of a deal IMHO.
Thanks for posting my Van. I’ll post vin and links to service records etc over the weekend for potentially interested buyers. Tom 760-525-2930. Tom@eim-llc.com. It’s a van that I was preparing to drive to South America and back so I tried to make it as bulletproof as a van can get. But that trips not happening so now I’m selling it.
Is this still available
