1985 VW Vanagon Westfalia Weekender – Automatic – $4,500 in Louisiana
Happy Friday Westy hunters. Anyone in the south east looking for a good deal? This 1985 VW Vanagon Westfalia Weekender just showed up on craigslist not far from New Orleans with an asking price of $4,500. The listing states it comes with a 2.1L engine, though the 2.1L wasn't introduced until 1986. Considering they state the mileage as 69,000, it may be what they estimate is on the engine, not what's on the odometer. The automatic transmission is generally less desirable with enthusiasts, though I think it makes these easier to drive for friends, family, etc. The pictures show a well cared for, detailed and sorted Westy Weekender clean throughout with all original pieces and whatnots attached. It looks like it may have been resprayed or treated around the rocker panels and lower seams. Air conditioning parts are all there, though the owner says it needs at least a recharge as they've never used it. This good looking rig has also recently seen the following upgrades; battery, clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, clutch slave, brake rotors / pads, rear wheel bearings, temperature sensors, all fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulator, timing adjusted, new gas filter, rotor, cap & plugs. If this van were for sale locally, or on the west coast, it would sell for more than double this in a day. The south east? We'll see. What do you think it's worth? Tell us in the comments below, or head on over to the individual posts about this van on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or Google +.
