It’s hard to find a nice Subaru conversion for under $20k, and I think that’s just what this is. What we’ve got here is a 1985 VW Vanagon Westfalia camper with some very good looks and 135k on a Subaru 2.2L/EJ22 engine swap with good compression. There’s no mention of how many miles are on the body, but that fresh paint job looks pretty sweet, hopefully it was done right and there’s no rust underneath. It’s got a stock 4 speed manual transmission, clean title and everything works. I’m a bit weary of aftermarket power windows, and power windows were not an option on the ’85, and this one appears to have them. Price might a little high if the van has like 300k miles on the body, but the seller states there is 0 rust, so who knows. A good 2.2L Subaru swap will run at least $14k, and a nice paint job at least $4k, so even though there’s some miles on the engine, it’s probably a decent deal if this is the type of rig you’re looking for, a Subaru swap with 0 rust. Find it for sale in Bellingham, Washington with an asking price of $19,500. Craigslist Link
Guess they didn’t sell it, asking price now down to $18k.
