1985 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper w/ 28k Original Miles – $14,500
Wow, haven’t seen a low mileage beauty like this in a while. Available in North Carolina is this 1985 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper with stock 1.9L engine, unspecified transmission and only 28k original miles. It is up for sale by the original owner who states it has been garaged most of it’s life. I can’t seem to find it listed for sale anywhere except the GoWesty classifieds site, though the seller provides what appears to be a legit email address and phone number. There’s unfortunately not many other details provided, and the three photos don’t reveal too much detail. With an asking price of only $14,500, this could be a diamond on the rough and would likely sell in a hot minute if it were for sale on the West Coast. Go Westy link
A Note For Potential Buyers – Get the VIN, do a full title check on both Auto Check & Car Fax, if it all checks out, go see this rig. Test all the components like the kitchen appliances and ever other bell and whistle. Explain that you’ll likely have to do at the very least a fuel tank reseal if it’s never had one. (~$350). Take a look at all of the control arm bushing and ball joints, make sure nothing is cracked or old. Basically, I’d still try to find a way to buy this van, but you might be able to talk them down some on little odds and ends like this. Even though 28k miles is ridiculously low, there are still many plastic/rubber pieces that won’t last 30 years, no matter how well it was stored.
A Note For The Seller – If you would have listed this on Craigslist and The Samba, provided more pictures, especially the underacrrige, etc, you’d get a lot more interest here. If this van is 100% legit, you could sell it for close to $20k on the West Coast.
you guys are good. but sorry Mike, no comparison to, “this one” . look again. 28K mi. in near mint condition. Find me a sweeter Westy for the price and I will eat your hat. just kidding about the hat. don’t like their taste.

Seller is bogus,
Never replied to my emails or returned my phone calls for the past 3 days.
Asked for vin or license plate numbers to run a carfax, of course no reply back.
Would not want to buy anything from this kind of a person.
Perhaps there is a good reason why he only posted on GoWesty site.
I think this is a hoax as there are two ads in GoWesty and the names in the adds are Richard Roe and Jane Doe.
Seems fishy
