1985 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper w/ 2.2L Subaru Engine – $15k in SLC, UT

Posted just a couple hours ago on craigslist is this 1985 VW Vanagon Westfalia camper with freshly rebuilt 2.2L Subaru engine, manual transmission and unknown body mileage. In the last year it’s gotten a $1,000 sounds system upgrade, solar panel setup with inverter, new BFG tires, brakes all the way around and new curtains. There’s no mention of how the engine swap was done, so ensuring it will pass smog in California is a big question here. It looks like it’s got some seam rust brewing, but is in otherwise decent shape, and has some nice tinted rear windows as well. It does come with a tow package, so I’d ask the seller what they towed with it. Anything more than a few bikes is probably not a good idea. However, if this is a legit Subaru swap, everything works, and it drives well, $15k isn’t exactly a high price, at least for the West Coast. Check it out for sale in Salt Lake City, Utah.
