1985 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper 125k Miles – $18k in Michigan

1985 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper 125k miles michigan WV2ZB0254FH107350Now that everyone is full on Turkey, feast your eyes on this good looking find for the holiday shopping weekend. Located in Michigan, this 1985 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper comes with 125k miles and what appears to be a fairly thorough restoration, most notably new paint. Up for auction on eBay with a starting bid of $17,500. The same van is also listed on Autoquid with an asking price of $17,500. Overall this looks like a great blank canvas to start from, as it’s most stock features, with the exception of a new updated tent canvas. Check out a You Tube walk around the seller post here.

The free title report from Auto Check (scroll down here) looks to be in order, with no major marks or incidents listed. The seller includes a laundry list of mechanical odds and ends that have been replaced, including fuel system/tank, power steering lines, rear brakes and even some new shoes.  The manual 4 speed transmission is said to shift smooth without issues. While there appears to be a new propane tank, or a freshly painted one, there’s no mention of whether or not the stove and/or fridge are functional. The van does come with the factory A/C setup, which isn’t in working order, but the plumbing and parts are all present.

Overall this is nice find, particularly for Michigan.  I’d almost be afraid to drive it anywhere up there until the spring. The action end on Sunday, with a buy it now of $20k. $17k is much more reasonable, and while still quite a high price, this van looks like a pretty nice blank canvas for a entry level Westy.
