1984 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper w/ Subaru 2.2L Motor – $12k in Portland, OR
This 1984 Westfalia camper with a Subaru 2.2 was posted on the Portland Craigslist yesterday for $13k. The odometer reads 129k and the engine is out of a 1993 legacy w/ 126k miles on it, but it sounds like the motor had a full overhaul before being installed in this van. It sounds like all the camping accessories work and they’ve even got the extra double jump seat so you can have seat belts for up to 6 people. I’m not sure if this swap is CA legal, as there are certain requirements that need to be met with these swaps. You’ll have to check with the owner on the details of the work done. However, finding a running Westy camper with a Subaru swap for under $15k these days can be difficult, especially in the Pacific Northwest where these are popular.
