This 1984 VW Vanagon Westfalia camper popped up for sale on craigslist yesterday with a $10,900 asking price. The van only has 129k miles and features a 2.2L subaru motor from a ’93 Legacy coupled with the standard 4 speed VW manual transmission. It sounds like the engine, parts and fuel system were completely overhauled when the swap was done, with mostly new parts. The seller states the canvas tent is in good shape, it’s got 15in GoWesty wheels and a new battery too. As an added bonus it even comes with an extra seat jump seat and seat belts so you can even take six people along on your adventure. This looks like a pretty good deal, but we’re not sure if the swap is CARB compliant for CA buyers, so you’ll have to ask the seller about the details of the swap.
Hello, is this VW still available?
Who did the conversion?
Thanks, Norm
