BOOM! Check out this screaming deal that just popped up for sale in Texas last night. This van is a 1984 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper with a Subaru 2.2L engine, manual transmission and unknown mileage. The engine and conversion are key here. It appears to be done with the Kennedy Engineering kit, which means it “might” be California smog legal. Usually a Subaru powered Westy that passes CA smog will sell for no less than $16k on the West Coast.
The appliances are all said to work. The paint and body look good, the top looks good, the interior looks good. It is said to have been covered when not in use, and I’m not surprised. While it has what appears to be the original pop top tent, the interior upholstery looks newer.
The only possible issue I see based on the photos and description provided, is that it looks like maybe the front has been repainted at some point, or it wore a bra for a very long time. This could be signs of a fender bender, but maybe not? The seller provided the VIN WV2ZB0259EH007386 so you can run a CarFax report or similar to check up on accident history, mileage, etc.
Swoop it up soon in Austin, Texas for only $11,000. Craigslist Link. What do you think it’s worth? Have you seen it? Driven it? Are you the seller reading this right now?
