1984 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper – $8,500 in Trinidad, CA

Here’s one that skipped by the usual searches, makes me think about looking for more mislabeled Vanagons.  In this case, we’ve got a 1984 VW Vanagon Westfallia (2 l’s) Camper with that’s got a unique custom 1 sided camo paint job, a rebuilt stock 1.9L engine with 20k miles on it and a standard manual transmission.  The seller doesn’t provide the VIN and state the odometer stopped working at around 250k, though it of course comes with a smog certificate and has recently passed.  The sink, stove, fridge are said to all work fine, but the upholstery is need of repair.  With an asking price of $8,500, I wonder how long it will take in the land of Humboldt?  Come up to Trinidad and hang out for a couple of days.  Craigslist Link

I’d be curious as to what the last odometer record is on the title report, how much rust it has, does it leak, how well does it idle, run, drive, etc.  The original pop top canvas is in ok shape for being 31 years old, and the fiberglass top and seals looked to be well cared for, though there is a top mounted (vs. side) Yakima rack, in a mounting style I’m not so familiar with.
