Fresh on craigslist last night is this 1984 VW Vanagon Westfalia camper in a mostly stock appearance with 199k miles on the clock, which the seller implies is accurate. It appears to be the original orange paint, and the power train is likely the original 1.9L engine with the stock 4 speed manual transmission. It mentions the “full camping kit”, but doesn’t say anything about the fridge, or what works, or how well. The listing does mention a heater, so I’m wondering if they installed a propex or similar at some point. If the title is clean, the mileage is accurate, it doesn’t leak, stays cool, and drives well, this is a steal at only $7,500, especially for Central California prices. The seller states it was purchased in Idaho a couple of years ago and driven down to California to be used as temporary housing.
