UPDATED: See comments below from the seller.
This Westy was posted for sale on craigslist almost two weeks ago but I must have overlooked it or had been un interested at the time, however it seems like it could be a good find, just not many specifics provided by the seller. For sale in Moreno Valley, CA is this orange 1983 VW Vanagon Westfalia camper with automatic transmission and A/C with a clean title for only $7,000. The seller says they would “drive this anywhere”. However other than a few more pictures, there details are minimal. I will email the seller and see if they’d like to provide the full scoop here. Craigslist Link

I am the owner of this van. It is in good working order. It has a new battery, newish brakes and I replaced some leaking parts in the cooling system. It is water cooled, and has working AC that was recharged 8 months ago. It is automatic, and has 250k miles on it. The interior is original and in good condition. No rips or tears, but the removable cushion over the engine hatch has a broken zipper. The canvas is also original I believe, and is in good working condition except for a broken zipper (I safety pin it closed in cold weather and it works fine like that). It probably needs a new alternator, but other than that it is mechanically sound to the best of my knowledge. I drove it from Southern California to Spokane Washington this summer, through the Nevada desert without problems. The transmission is working fine. It has a new catalytic converter so it passes California emission tests. It has a clean California title.
