1983.5 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper – $7,500 in Atlanta, GA

The seller doesn’t say much about this 1983.5 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper they listed for sale on the Atlanta, GA craigslist (link), though it does come with a nice low asking price of only $7,500.  The picture show minimal to no rust, original orange paint job, relatively clean interior and overall decent looks.  They state the mileage is only 140k, though no notes on whether that’s legit, as well as no VIN provided.  However, $7,500 for a rust free water boxer Westy that runs, this would sell in a hot minute on the west coast. Someone get on this quick!  Got some wisdom on this one? Leave a comment below or head on over to the individual posts about this Westy on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or Google+.

Proud new owners of this one! so far so good…probably not too smart to drive it home 4 hours with one dim headlight.

Interior is a little dirty, but should be easy to spiffy up. Noticed some oil leaking as soon as we got it home. Exterior seems to be in excellent condition.

Looking forward to making memories…this is our first Westy!

    • Awesome, was likely a good deal at that price! Find a mechanic that knows vanagons well and have them check it out. Check out the Vanagon Rescue Squad App for your smartphone! Regularly check oil and coolant levels (behind the license plate). Get some “formula 303” and do every last piece of rubber and plastic you can find(inside and out), wait a few days for it to soak in, then take it to the self serve car wash and scrub it good. So many things, so little time. ENJOY!!
