WOW, here’s a deal for your Monday. 1985 VW Vanagon Westfalia camper with unknown mileage and ~20k on on a VW/Audi 1.8L Turbo conversion done by Stephen’s Auto Haus(not sure if it was the one in Sacramento or the one in Marin). This rig also comes with recent tie rods, bushings, ball joints, springs, Bilstein shocks, new brakes, gas tank seals and rear CV joints. It looks like it has seen some seam rust on the rocker panels, and it was maybe bedlinered or painted, and then rusted through again? There also appears to be some rust around the windows. I can’t quite tell with the pictures and seller didn’t provide any details here. The seller also didn’t provide pictures of the pop top. or mention if/how well any of the kitchen equipment is working. However, keep in mind the 1.8T conversions costs at least $15k to begin with and you usually won’t find a 1.8T Westy for under $20k. This one is for sale in Napa County, California with an asking price of only $13k. Craigslist Link
Congrats Randy!!!! Looks like you got an awesome deal!
I bought it! Wish I could say I was led to it by your post, but I spotted it on craigslist early this morning. Still, your website has been a tremendous resource in my search, and I’m just thrilled as can be to finally own one. A 1.8T conversion at that! 🙂
Thanks for all the info!
Got an email from the seller that it’s been sold!
